Great reusable filter, does let some grit through

Fits perfectly, works perfectly. For those who do not mind a bit of grit in the bottom of their cup, and who do not mind the oil of the coffee beans coming through. If you mind that terribly, stick to the paper filters. Otherwise, this is a great reusable swap!

Poor and extraction

I initially thought it would be a good idea, but it turned out not to be. The water flows too quickly through the coffee, making the pressure unnecessary and resulting in a poor extraction that leads to a different flavor. For me, I either have to use the inverted method or, as I did, switch back to paper filters.

Too many fines

There is a strong issue with the filter. The holes are much too big. Coffee flows through much too quickly and allows a great deal of fines to flow through. I usually prefer to do an invert brew so the flow issue isn't a major one for me, but the large amount of fines is far from ideal.

On balance, I prefer paper

I am disappointed by the amount of sediment this allows into my brew despite using a considerably coarser grind with my original Aeropress. This filter also requires one to use the upside-down method which is a minor hassle. Have returned to paper filters. On the positive, this filter allows more oils into the brew than paper and yields a nice crema unlike paper filters. You may weigh these trade-offs differently, but I prefer paper.
