I'd agree with the description of this being a medium-roast coffee. The beans appear to be fresh and well-sealed in the packaging. They ground up easily and made a tasty cup of coffee!

I really enjoy drinking this coffee! It has a very rich, yet smooth flavor. The beans came fresh and have a nice nutty scent. This coffee is a bit more on the medium side than medium dark. I drink my coffee black with no sugar and this has the flavor that I look for.

I like this Arabica Whole Bean Coffee. I've never ordered from this brand but I'm glad I've decided to give this coffee a try. The beans are fresh, not stale. I absolutely love the aroma in my house in the mornings when I brew this coffee. There are notes of fruit and chocolate, the coffee is smooth and not bitter. Love it.

This Saludos de El Salvador Medium Dark Roast 100% Arabica Whole Bean Coffee is a good basic coffee. The beans are perfectly roasted, and ground up nicely in a regular ole bean grinder. It brews great in a Keurig, but the taste is more on the lower end of the dark roast scale. The taste is rich, but slightly acidic. It smells nice, like a cafe. This is great on its own, or even with some cream and sugar

Great aroma and produces a smooth shot of espresso.I generally prefer a dark roast but was pleasantly surprised by the flavors of this medium-dark roast - quite complex and pleasing. Would definitely recommend trying it out

I liked this brewed as espresso with oat milk. It was not overly dark and it doesn't have any unpleasant brightness or acidity. If I add other flavors like lavender or cinnamon, it doesn't interfere, but provides a great espresso base that can still stand up to that. It was a great option, but it doesn't overly stand out. I would order this again at a lower price (it was $19.99 at time of order).

This has a smooth, quite pleasant flavor. It's not overly bold or toasty like many dark roasts, and it is listed as a 4/5 on the darkness scale. I'd say that calling it medium-dark is accurate, possibly more on the medium side, but definitely with dark roast qualities. Don't expect Saludos de El Salvador - Premium Single Origin Medium Dark Roast, 100% Arabica Whole Bean Coffee to be a standard dark roast - it's much closer to a medium roast than a dark. The coffee beans are in good condition (not a lot of broken pieces) and are evenly roasted. The bag did not display a roasting date, but the resulting coffee tasted fresh. I'm no expert on flavor notes, but I did detect a faint chocolate flavor when drinking this coffee. I appreciate that it is a fair trade product and ethically sourced.

This coffee isn't particularly aromatic or flavorful...but also isn't in any way offensive. It's just "coffee that tastes like coffee" which is good when you're drinking it for its functional purposes while working or something like that and don't have the time to sit and savor it. No sense in wasting extra-good coffee in those circumstances, so this stuff very much fits the bill as "good, but not TOO good" if that makes sense. It's very coffee. Yes, you read that right.

This bag of coffee beans have a really fresh smell when opened. I like the taste that is smooth and no bitterness. Very pleased with this order.

This Jones Ranch Coffee company Saludos de El Salvador dark roast coffee has a nice fresh smelling fragrance. The first pot was really weak without much flavor. We brewed a second pot nearly twice as strong and enjoyed it.Better tasting when brewed stronger.

I like this whole bean dark roast coffee and think it has a pleasant flavor. However, it wasn't as strong or bold as I usually prefer in a dark roast. The aroma while brewing is very nice, and the taste is smooth, but it lacked the robustness of other dark roasts I've tried. For those who enjoy a milder dark roast, this could be a good choice.

As a coffee drinker, I do prefer darker roast coffees. As such, I realize that most dark roast coffees have a similar taste profile due to roasting the coffee until dark. While this coffee is labeled as a dark roast, I thought that the taste wasn’t as strong and bold as other dark roast coffees. So I would categorized it a step lower to medium dark. It is still good but with a more mellow taste. For some, that’s probably a good thing.Still, for just a 12oz bag, I don’t think it deserves to command a premium price.

This is a nice blend of coffee, but I can't say there's anything that really stands out and wows me about it either. Is it good? Yes. I didn't get any weird burnt notes in mine either - just good, dark roast coffee. Now. It's currently $22 a bag which...I wouldn't pay that for this. I didn't see any roasted on date on the bag and it's just not that remarkably different from other coffee to me to justify that price. Try it when it's on sale!
